1. BEFORE A CONCRETE POUR
Identify the element/location, date and approved drawing revision.
Record checks of reinforcement, cover, formwork, dimensions and embedded services against that design.
Ask for the inspector, dated photographs, observations, open defects and release decision.
Affected work proceeds only after the required engineering hold point is released.

2. BEFORE WATERPROOFING IS COVERED
Identify the area, approved system, product batch and application stage.
Record preparation, junctions and application checks.
Record the specified test method, duration, result, photographs and reviewer.
Close defects and obtain the required release before protective or finish layers cover the work.

3. BEFORE PIPES AND WIRING ARE CONCEALED
Identify the room, line/circuit, route and approved drawing revision.
Record the checks and tests required by the project inspection plan.
Retain measured results, test-equipment identification, visible-route photographs and corrective-work records.
Qualified personnel carry out safety tests. Obtain clearance before closure.

4. AT HANDOVER
Agree the document and asset index, commissioning records and room-by-room snag list.
Track each snag to an owner and closure evidence.
Receive the agreed as-built information, care instructions and supplied product warranty documents.
Confirm the written defect-reporting route, obligations and applicable contract terms.

QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING AT EVERY STAGE
Which drawing revision was checked?
Where is the affected work located?
What was accepted and what is still open?
Who reviewed it and who can release the next stage?
Where are the dated photographs and test results?
